Unidentified (2001) is an early video work made whilst a student. It involved constructing an out-sized paper model of an allotrope of carbon found in soot. Influenced by auto-destructive art, the aim was to set the model alight once finished.

In a recording of the event, the object is first seen on the ground in flames, which gradually subside as the paper model appears to build itself. Once almost complete, the object lifts off of the ground and revolves in the air, demonstrating its reconstituted form.

This work was shown in New Contemporaries, 2001.
